The Pendennis Cocktail: Invented in and named after the Pendennis Club in Louisville, Kentucky, this is a drink from a bygone era.
Unfortunately, I’m one of the many who doesn’t have a real peach (or apricot) brandy, which means that my Pendennis is dominated by sweetness. Someday, I’ll give it another try.
2 ounces gin
1 ounce peach brandy (Haigh prefers apricot brandy)
2 or 3 dashes Peychaud’s Bitters
3/4 ounce fresh lime juice
Shake with ice. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
